If Ted Kennedy recognizes mold as a problem for homeowners, you can bet mold issues are a serious matter.
Kennedy and Walsh join anti-mold talks in opening dialogue with lobbyists for House Bill 1268 sponsored by
Michigan Congressman John Conyers Jr. to protect homeowners from toxic
mold.
The bill is aimed at establishing national home purchase covenants similar to asbestos and lead paint laws.
And now fear of storms (and the damage it brings, like flooding and
mold) make some homes no longer wanted in Florida.
Maybe it's time to plan a trip to Florida and get some great deals on
real estate. Do you really think storms, flooding or mold will stop
people to buy real estate in Florida? Don't think so.
But the truth is that environmental issues are being given more and more media attention. Politicians are paying attention and they are told to exercise their clout on environmental issues.
Mold may seem like a creature out of late-night horror movies, and
lately it's been striking terror into the hearts of commercial real
estate builders, developers and owners, not to mention the insurance
carriers that protect them. Commercial insurance against mold is drying up.
Florida's based PRO-LAB is finding a very smart way of addressing environmental issues and promoting business with their Parters Program.
They are building a network that provides real estate agents with an
online resource to locate certified environmental home inspectors. Real
estate agents don't loose deals, home inspectors get more business, and
homebuyers get peace of mind.
Way to go, guys. |
