Holiday season is here again. Great! You've probably spent some time
decorating your Christmas tree. And you just love traditions. So do we.
But hey, you know I much we care about environmental issues, and mold
in particular (we've built a website about mold!). Can Christmas trees
cause health problems because of mold? Yes it can.
If you have cold symptoms right now,
it could be an allergic reaction to your Christmas tree.
Schools are closed for the holidays, but environmental issues (included mold) in schools are still a big concern.
Boston school officials will spend at least $3 million next school year
to rid schools of pests and to contend with leaky roofs, but lack the
money to immediately repair every problem cited in a recent
environmental inspection report, an administrator said yesterday.
90 percent of the city's public schools had at least one environmental problem that could worsen asthma or allergies.
Repairing everything at once, from poor ventilation to rodent infestation, would cost the school system about $200 million. |
